And now for the grand finale of 2016, the mother of all eggnogs, the greatest nog on earth, the crown jewel of holiday beverages… I present to you, Byrne Dairy’s Original Recipe Eggnog. Folks, this is the best eggnog i’ve ever had. This is a drink that my family has enjoyed for at least two generations. Unfortunately it is not widely distributed so if you are ever in upstate and northern New York during the holidays, make it a priority to source a few half gallons of this local delicacy. Byrne Dairy sets the bar high. It has the perfect amount of thickness. Smooth without feeling too heavy, it truly is the perfect consistency. Flavor? Unmatched. Balanced with nutmeg and cinnamon, this nog smells and tastes like Christmas. From the first sip you will be transported back to your childhood with vivid images of christmas morning past. Does it taste Old Fashioned? Yes. What does that mean? I don’t know, it just does. This is the type of eggnog you look forward to year round. This is the stuff you talk about with friends at parties. All other eggnogs are products of the season, but Byrne Dairy “is” the season. Ok, that’s a bit much, but this beverage gets me excited.
Coming in at 540 calories per 12 ounces, it’s right in the middle of the nogs we reviewed this year in terms of nutrition. Do yourself a favor and get some of this before it’s too late!
