Borden Eggnog
I love eggnog. Let me clarify that statement. I love good eggnog, really good eggnog. I was in the grocery store the other day and in front of me was a display of Christmas foods. One of the items that caught my eye was a box of eggnog! Yes, a non-refrigerated box of eggnog. This peaked my curiosity. I have only ever had refrigerated eggnog. This was by Borden and it was similar in packaging to UHT milk (ultra high temperature). This is a way of preserving the product so it increases shelf life and only needs to be refrigerated after opening. I was skeptical to say the least. Let me tell you, my skepticism quickly turned into love at first sip! This is truly an eggnog lovers dream come true. The expiration date was December of 2017! That means I can hoard some boxes for a Christmas in July celebration! I am in heaven. This eggnog was pleasantly sweet with a subtle taste of nutmeg. It is slightly thin in consistency but goes down oh so smoothly. Who ever at Borden thought up this recipe and processing is a genius! Santa hats off to an excellent eggnog!
